THE CREATION OF BUMBU BALI
Balis first authentic Balinese restaurant was created following
the principles used in designing a traditional home compound. Conceptualized
by Heinz von Holzen, author of the highly acclaimed cook book, The
Food of Bali, and his wife, Puji. Bumbu Bali was designed by the
well-known local architect, Ketut Artana. Without his participation
and the whole-hearted support of a Balinese priest, family members
and friends, this dream would never have become a reality. Countless
trips into villages, homes and temples helped us Incorporate many
elements of daily Balinese life into harmonious surrounding.
At the entrance of the restaurant, we have recreated an authentic
Balinese kitchen, following traditional plans. Here you can observe
our Chefs preparing the delectable flavors, created by the magical
mixtures of spices and herbs from the fabled spicy islands.
COOKING SCHOOL
We offer interested cooks the chance to discover for themselves
the secrets of Balinese cuisine. Class will be limited to 12 participants
to give everyone a chance to receive personal attention as they
are guided, step by step, in the hands-on preparation of the dishes.
No effort has been spared in creating a place of discovery, friendliness
and comfort. Its is our aim not only to share with you the best
dishes that Bali has to offer, but to let you in to many of the
secrets of a true Balinese home.

GROUP RESERVATION
The restaurant is available for exclusive group bookings for up
